This fool

 This poem was written in January 1984. I was 23. 

A cat-fisher dude took advantage of me. Funny how you still have cat-fishers today.

You can’t fool me.

This fool’s been fooled before.

On my face I’ve already fell.

Let me tell you, I know this game to well.

I’ve heard every charming line you can say.

So let’s just go our separate way.

No heartache or pain.

You just go on and seek your fame.

There was never really a chance for us.

We started out as a lie.

The truth will be our goodbye.

There was a reason for all my doubt.

I’m certainly happy I figured it out.

Fore a fool I may be.

But a broken heart I won’t.

By feeling love for you I don’t.
